A young lady is taken in as a nanny and maid servant. We go through the young lady's growth in the affairs of an unsheltered life. Part of this new growth involves understanding what personal relationships are, how to become a part of one, how to walk away from one and how to tear one asunder. To obey an employer in all things, even sexual is learned the hard way by personal involvement.

 

With her bags packed and passport in hand, travel expert Samantha Brown journeys around the world. They're all blonde and beautiful so Samantha must be in Stockholm, Sweden. There are 14 islands that make up this Scandinavian city and Samantha covers a lot of ground, cooling off in an ice bar, hunting for trolls and eating the meatballs.

DROTTNINGHOLM SLOTT Drottningholm Castle is located on "Queen's Island" in the Maelarsea, twelve kilometres from Stockholm. Of Franco-Dutch design, construction of this regal residence began in 1662 and the castle is now the residence of the Swedish royal family. Drottningholm Castle has managed to retain the regal atmosphere of the Swedish royal families just as it was during the 18th century.

 
Kungliga Slottet Kungliga Slottet is a majestic royal castle that is located on the highest point of the island of Stadsholmen in the middle of the attractive historical old town of Stockholm known as Gamla Stan. The castle became an official royal residence when Swedish monarch, King Adolf Fredrik, resided there. With its 608 rooms the castle is considered to be one of the greatest royal residences in the world and home to the Swedish crown jewels.

 
Stockholm, Sweden's capital city, sits in an archipelago made up of thousands of islands. Before heading to the mountains, hosts Mark Jennings & Julie Conover explore the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town and sample traditional cuisine. The Vasa Museum is home to a sixteenth century warship that capsized on her maiden voyage and was exhumed from Stockholm's bay perfectly preserved. She now shares this fascinating piece of history with her guests. As the journey turns north, Mark and Julie experience Sweden's fairytale countryside on the backs of Icelandic horses and visit Scandinavia's largest winter resort for an introduction to telemark skiing. A dazzling heliski adventure concludes this tour through the land of the midnight sun.

 
STORKYRKAN The elegant tower of Storkyrkan Cathedral rises majestically above Gamla Stan, the old and historic district of Sweden's capital city of Stockholm. Storkyrkan, which means, 'the great church', is the oldest church in the Swedish metropolis.The history of Stockholm's cathedral, that combines both Gothic as well as Baroque design, is closely associated with the Swedish royal family. With the exception of King Gustav The Fifth, each of Sweden's kings has been crowned here due to the ideal setting offered by this glorious building.

 
STOCKHOLM Stockholm is a city that floats on water: the 'Venice Of The North' was built on fourteen islands. Gamla Stan, or 'Old Town', is the name of the city's three central islands that are linked by numerous bridges. Its ambience is that of the Middle Ages and small and mysterious alleys and beautiful buildings that date back to the 7th century characterise the life of the traders who once lived there. The old town's most dominant building is the royal castle of Kunglia Slottet.

 
We check out sleek Stockholm as an opener to a tour that winds up in Helsinki, Finland. In Sweden's capitol, we browse in the old town, see an opera at the baroque Queen's Theater, get close to an unlucky 17th century warship and sample earlier centuries of Swedish life in a lively open-air museum. Then we board a ship for a scenic overnight cruise through the Baltic Archipelago to explore 19th century sights in modern Helsinki, Finland.
